So I should start this post with a Happy New Year to you all. 2017 has finally brought itself round to us and if you're like me you are starting your new year with a poorly head, sore feet and mind fuzz after a night of dancing the night away with friends. I wanted to end 2016 on a high and as you know this year was a year of all sorts, I shall leave my 2016 reflective posts below if you want to re-visit or even read them. I ventured out with friends and danced the night away combining the dance moves of Miley Cyrus pre her reunion with Liam Hemsworth and Beyonce. If you imagine those two combined you'll have Ev at a party or in a club. I wanted to give you an insight into the look I went for, for an evening dancing, drinking and celebrating the end of a rollercoaster of a year.
Finding a dress for New Years is always difficult because you have to combine elegance as well as party vibe into two. I find going for a dress off the shoulder lately fits that category quite well because this style provides a classy yet sultry look for an evening of very un-classy dancing. I have found that Boohoo has been wonderful at designing dresses for my shape and height, I am short I know that. Being short I have found that some retailers don't cater for my shape and often design dresses that are too long but Boohoo have a petite range. I love their range of dresses for the smaller sized woman because they fit beautifully in all the places you'd ever want extra defining.
This dress I selected was an off the shoulder lacy number which in my opinion is a texture designed perfectly for evening attire. Like the off the shoulder style it provides you with a classy yet sultry look. I for some reason was surprised I selected this dress and liked it so much being long sleeved I have a real issue with long sleeves. I find them typically to be uncomfortable as well too hot so tend to steer well away from dresses with a long sleeve yet this time I was amazed with how much I liked the dress and its shaping.
For shoes I opted for my usual evening and clubbing shoes which are from the 2014 Autumn and Winter range at Next. Every time I wear these shoes I am asked where they are from, I think because many people think they are more expensive but they were £40 and have been my shoes for near enough every clubbing event in the last 2 years. A very good purchase. If you are my age (20's) and usually avoid Next I would go look there especially if you have small feet as their shoe department for all occasions is great.
By the end of the night, however, my feet are sore with the height. I can, however, put up with the throbbing pain at 2am when I feel sassy and like a million dollars
