Summer Dining & Styling
Last night I ventured out with the Pete (Dad) and Niamh (Sister) for dinner, with my Dad currently in DIY SOS mode with his house renovation project we haven't had an opportunity to go out for dinner an awful lot. I will confess, that my Sister and I are spoilt with our grub, being taken to some lovely restaurants, my family
are so good at picking decent places for us to dine. As usual last night was not one of those mistakes it was delightful, with the loveliness of the evening I decided to blog it; from the outfit, to the make up and of course the grub.
The Outfit
Does anyone else really struggle with outfits or is this just me? I spend an eternity deciding on what I will wear for several occassions, whether that be for dinner or going out drinking/dancing with Uni pals. I am awful for deciding on what to wear. Its even worse when you go out on a weekend for dinner, do you dress casually or smartly? I combined the two. I wore some black skinny jeans, I believe that a pair of black jeans are the evening denim, they can instantly make an outfit look slightly more classier than your usual denim. I then wore this cami style vest top with my school type shoes. This was finished with my leather jacket. This entire outfit was something simple but effective for an evening out, when eating out you want to be comfortable. I sound like my Nan in suggesting that we should be comfortable but its true, you don't want to look pregnant or you are suddenly becoming an elephant after your steak dinner.

Make-Up
For an evening look in relation to make up, I always try to go for a bold eye and quite mild lipstick because that's quite a classy make up look for dining out. I firstly did the base, it seems like I wear so much on face but in truth a BB cream is so light in comparison with a foundation that it feels more like a moisturiser. To look as though I am wearing make up, I put on some concealer and powder which gives the impression of a strong base. After my base, I add some structure to my face with some bronzer, highlighting my cheekbones. This is it, because I prefer to make my eyes up. For this I put on a primer from MUA which is dupe for the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I rub this on my eyelids so my eye make up stays on for much longer. I use a darker eyeshadow in my crease which add a level of depth for my eyes. This also increases the look of a smokey eye. I also use a charcoal shade on my lash lines rather than a liquid liner; this keeps it looking more smokier than a defined eyeliner look. Go for one or the other in my mind. With this I then add some mascara to add some depth and widen my eyes. Once I'm all smokey with my eyes, I move to the lips with a nice deep shade, from N07. Then I'm complete.

Dinner
The Oyster and Pearl, Seasalter
For dinner we had no where booked, neither did we have an idea of where we were eating last night until we were driving through Faversham. When we arrived in Faversham, Pete chose The Oyster and Pearl in SeaSalter which is near Whitstable and is such a nice pub/restaurant, really lovely service and wonderful food. For seafood its wonderful and its meat, for Sundays I would suggest you look elsewhere because their Roast Dinners for me are not as nice. Whilst if you go there on a Saturday and in the week, its ideal. Last night Pete and I went for a Rib Eye steak with brandy and peppercorn sauce, Roasted Tomato, Mushrooms, Side Salad and hand cut chips. My meal was delightful, the meat was cooked just to my liking, medium rare. Beautifully tender and easy to cut into. The chips were great, homemade too.
