#IAmFreedom Halloween Awards Party

Last night I was one of many bloggers invited to the Make Up Revolution Halloween Party to celebrate both halloween and announce the winner of the I Am Freedom party. I attended the event with my fellow blogging friend Jessica who both blogs and vlogs- I shall link her links below for you to and follow/subscribe to her. The party was held in DSTRCT London and was a fabulous party; filled with a fab free bar, canapés, a photo booth and a great dance floor.

The competition was made globally and was on the hunt for the next pro-make up artist who would work alongside Make Up Revolution & Freedom. The winner would receive £20,000 as well as their contract with TamBeauty. We as guests were alongside the guests doing the judging and we got to choose who we wanted to win, I voted for Lorna because I thought she had genuine talent and her previous make up looks were really elegant as well as classy. Looks which I also go for in my beauty regimes. Please also let me inform you that just because I voted for Lorna it doesn’t make me think the other 4 finalists were terrible because I thought I thought they too did an amazing job. Lorna was chosen by us as well as the judges as the winner and walked away from a club in Covent Garden with £20,000 and a contract with Tambeauty to begin a career in make up. The 4 runners up all came in 2nd place and walked away with £1,000 but I honestly think this could be the platform that all these 4 people need for their careers in the beauty industry.

The party was great for us because it allowed us to engage with other bloggers and you tubers who were all either in the process of working with brands or already engaged with us brands. It was also nice to share our stories and problems as bloggers and attending such events.

I’ve got to be completely honest when I say this because I am always honest. Honesty is the best policy after all. I never in fact used or brought a product from Makeup Revolution, not because I haven't wanted to but because I seem to go into the drug store and just buy the same regular products because I am reluctant to try new products and dislike them. Despite my incompetence I have heard really good things about Make Up Revolution- most of my friends highly rate the products and compare them to the high end brands that most bloggers rave on about and get sent. The founder of the company did make a speech at the beginning of the evening and I was really taken back with his statement because I felt that it was so right. He claimed that when he created the company and the products he wanted to create were accessible but of good quality and he felt that the beauty industry at the moment was elitist. The founder also went on to suggest that he wanted good priced make up that everyone could use and recommend. I have to say that as a make up lover and buyer that I find myself agreeing with the founder; this is because when I ever walk into a department store tempted to purchase an item I can often find myself walking away because I feel like I shouldn’t be in that vicinity. I find the sales assistants as well as some of the customers to be very arrogant and less willing to help new customers. I may be a student but I have a part time job which does allow me to spend some of that money on make up of my choice, whether high end or drug store. I think after this speech from the founder that I would be more likely to give into temptation of the brand just because I want to see how it does compare to my favourite high end brands such as Benefit, Mac & Urban Decay.

Thank you to the guys at Tam Beauty I had a fabulous time!
